When Rebecca first read Wicked she was on holidays in South Africa, visiting her grandparents. They did a lot of driving along the Garden Route, and this book kept Rebecca company for hours on the road. Rebecca read on fearlessly despite the car sickness because it was such a damn good story!

Barry saw the Musical first, which is funny and light-hearted, very much like The Wizard of Oz, just from a different perspective. When he eventually read the book, he was completely caught by the darkness and fullness of a world barely hinted at in the musical.

If you’ve ever seen The Wizard of Oz, you should read Wicked and get the other side of the story. Or see the Musical and get your boogie on.
