This is Barry’s favourite author, and one of his stranger books. In the intro, the author himself says “this book might not be for you”. There’s no real plot to speak of, it’s too short for a novel and too long for a short story, there is one character in the entire book, and every word is a brush stroke on a canvas. It is wonderful.
When Rebecca travelled to Bali, Barry bought her a hardback copy of this book to keep her company. The main character reminded Barry of Rebecca, a beautiful “moon fae”, and Rebecca found as much to love about this strange story as Barry did!
Rebecca’s first few days in paradise were spent with her head stuck in this book. This book kept us connected at a time when we most needed it, and we couldn’t have had any other book at the head table.
